Who Is Blanche
Blanche Dingle, Vocalist, SongWriter.
Blanche Dingle was born in Harlem, NY and subsequently moved with her family to St. Albans Queens, NY. She attended P.S. 136 where she realized her love of music and singing. She joined the Glee Club at the age of 8 years old. She went on to attend J.H.S. 192 and sang in the chorus there which led her to join the Queens Boro-Wide Chorus which was conducted by Mr. Hampton Williams. She then attended Andrew Jackson H.S which offered a Music and Arts curriculum. She majored in music and joined every chorus offered at the school. Mr. Richard Blankstein, her choral director encouraged her to tryout for the All-City High School Chorus which was conducted by the late, great maestro Mr. John Motley. She sang all over NYC with the All-City Chorus (the Christmas tree lighting at Rockefeller Center).
Blanche continued her choral singing where she was employed at the Brooklyn Union Gas Company. There, she joined the Brooklyn Union Gas Company Festival Chorus in 1974.They sang during the Christmas holidays spreading joy to children, senior citizen centers, and veteran hospitals throughout Brooklyn, Queens, Staten Island, and Long Island, as well as performing got the work force there at the company. Blanche has since retired from the Brooklyn Union Gas Company in 2011, she still continues to sing with the chorus which is now called the NationalGrid Festival Chorus to this present day.
Blanche is an active member of The Greater Allen AME Cathedral of NY whose Pastors are Reverends . Drs. Floyd and Elaine Flake. She sings with The Greater Allen AME Cathedral Mass Choir, the Women’s Choir, The Cathedral Chorale and served as a Praise & Worship leader for their annual GAC Women’s Conference for the past 18 years.
Blanche is also a member of Chorale Le Chateau founded by Professor Damien Sneed. With this Chorale, she performed The Abyssinian Mass written by Jazz great Wynton Marsalis. (performed in Chatauqua, NY) in 2017 and again in 2019 at Lincoln Center with the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra (JLCO) for The White Lights Festival. Blanche joined God’s Blueprint For Life Ministry in 2014. This ministry, founded by Elders David & Valena Bratton, performed a live recording in 2015 at York College. The CD Every Praise featuring David Bratton and God’s Blueprint For Life Ministry included the song “You Are God” written by Blanche Dingle featured the late, great Tunesha Crispell performing lead vocals. This CD Every Praise is available for download on all major outlets.
Blanche has toured Italy with David Bratton and the Bennett College Gospel Choir.
Since 1997, Blanche has been writing Gospel Praise & Worship songs. She was mentored by such esteemed people as the late Rev. Gwendolin Sims Warren, Rev. Evelyn Suber and Dr. Melvin Hall. She received invaluable teaching and coaching from Tony award winner Jason Michael Webb, Professor Damien Sneed, Elder David Bratton, Minster David Hunter and vocal coaches Paul Chaplin, Stephanie Alvarenga, Rachel Blackburn and Marlon Saunders.
Besides singing in choirs, Blanche also performs for weddings, birthdays, funerals, and other special occasions. Blanche has appeared on several prime time shows as on Person of Interest, Billions, City on a Hill, Restaurant Ambush, God Friended Me, Mr. Robot and Madam Secretary.
Blanche is a voice over artist and lent her voice to “Eartha”, an animated character that speaks of energy conservation.
With the encouragement of her family and friends, Blanche is now realizing her dream and seeing it come to fruition. Her faith and trust in the Lord has led her to be divinely connected to people who has helped her to reach this milestone in her life Her motto is “Wait on the Lord and be of good courage! The best is yet to come!”
